The TVS BS-C101 is a simple, reliable handheld scanner for 1D (linear) barcodes, the familiar striped barcodes printed on retail products, cartons, courier labels and many documents. It connects to a billing or inventory computer and enters each scanned code as if it had been typed, so it works with almost any billing, POS or inventory software without special setup.

Retail stores and supermarkets use it at billing counters to speed up checkout. Warehouses and godowns use it for inward and outward entries, stock counts and dispatch checks. Pharmacies and clinic counters scan medicine and product barcodes, and offices use it to track assets and files labelled with linear barcodes.

Pair it with a Core i3 or Core i5 office desktop for a complete billing counter, and with the TSC TTP-244 Pro label printer if you print your own barcode labels. Note that it reads 1D barcodes only; for QR codes, mobile screens or 2D codes, choose the TVS TD-201D Lite or BS-i302G.

The scanner is rented month to month with a one-month minimum, and rates drop as quantity rises, which suits stores and warehouses equipping many counters at once. Each unit is tested before dispatch, 18% GST is added to the rent and every order carries a GST invoice.

Can the TVS BS-C101 scan QR codes or barcodes on phone screens?

No. The BS-C101 reads 1D (linear) barcodes, the striped codes on products, cartons and labels. To scan QR codes, 2D codes or codes displayed on mobile screens, such as payment or e-ticket codes, choose the TVS TD-201D Lite or the BS-i302G 2D scanner.

Will it work with our existing billing software?

In most cases, yes. The scanner enters each barcode as keyboard input, so any billing, POS or inventory software that accepts typed item codes will accept scans. Test it on one counter when it arrives; we can help check the connection if your software behaves differently.

How is the rent calculated?

Each configuration has a monthly rate that falls as quantity rises, in tiers of 1–5, 6–10, 11–25, 26–50, 51–100 and 100–200 units; the price list shows every tier. Rent is billed per monthly cycle from the date of handover. 18% GST is added on top of the listed rent and shown separately on the invoice, along with any add-ons and the delivery charge where it applies.

Can we add more RAM, storage or a bigger monitor?

Yes, subject to stock. On laptops, an extra 8 GB RAM is ₹400 a month and an extra 256 GB SSD is ₹400 a month. On desktops, an extra 8 GB RAM is ₹200 a month, an extra 256 GB SSD is ₹150 a month, and the monitor can be upgraded to 24-inch for ₹200, 27-inch for ₹400 or 32-inch for ₹600 a month. Add-ons are per device, plus 18% GST.
