About renting the MacBook Pro M5 (16 GB / 512 GB)

The MacBook Pro M5 is the current-generation everyday Pro. It has the Apple M5 chip, 16 GB unified memory and a 512 GB SSD, and it is aimed at professionals whose work is demanding but does not need a Pro-series chip.

Typical users are developers on web, mobile and backend projects, UI and product designers, marketing editors producing regular video, and analysts working with notebooks, SQL tools and BI dashboards. For a company equipping these roles for a year, the M5 offers the newest standard chip at a lower monthly cost than the M4 Pro and M5 Pro configurations, with 512 GB of storage for Xcode, assets and working footage.

The 16 GB memory is the line to watch. If engineers run several containers or virtual machines, or data teams work with local models, the 24 GB M5 Pro or M4 Pro is the better choice. If the role is lighter, such as a manager or salesperson, a MacBook Air will do the job for less.

The MacBook Pro M5 is rented on a 1-year lock-in. Rates fall in tiers as quantity rises, so equipping a full team costs less per unit. Business KYC is completed online before dispatch. Your IT team handles MDM enrolment and Apple IDs, and every laptop is factory-reset when we collect it at the end of the term.

FAQs

MacBook Pro M5 (16 GB / 512 GB) rental FAQs

MacBook Pro M5 or MacBook Pro M4 for our developers?

Both have 16 GB memory, a 512 GB SSD and a 1-year lock-in. The M5 is the newer chip and stays current longer through a twelve-month deployment. The 14.2-inch M4 is a proven alternative that may suit budget-led rollouts. For heavy builds or ML work, step up to 24 GB on an M4 Pro or M5 Pro.

Is 16 GB on the M5 enough for a design team?

For Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom and prototyping tools, yes. Designers who also edit long video, work on heavy 3D scenes or keep many large apps open together should use a 24 GB M4 Pro or M5 Pro. Memory on a Mac cannot be upgraded later, so match it to the heaviest task each person does.

How is the rent calculated?

Each configuration has a monthly rate that falls as quantity rises, in tiers of 1–5, 6–10, 11–25, 26–50, 51–100 and 100–200 units; the price list shows every tier. Rent is billed per monthly cycle from the date of handover. 18% GST is added on top of the listed rent and shown separately on the invoice, along with any add-ons and the delivery charge where it applies.

Which configurations have a lock-in period?

A 1-year lock-in applies to new laptops (12th and 13th Gen Core and the RTX laptops), MacBook Air M2 and later, most newer MacBook Pro models, the 12th and 14th Gen RTX workstations and the Core i5 desktop. The HP LaserJet 1020w and the TSC label printer carry a 6-month lock-in. Rent is payable for the full lock-in even if a device comes back early. Everything else runs month to month.
